This award is presented annually in memory of Ruth MacKinnon, a former CFB Halifax Curler. It is intended to recognize a member who best reflects the spirit of the club through their goodwill and kindness.

Beth Baker epitomizes Ruth MacKinnon’s spirit of friendship and sportsmanship in the CFB Halifax Curling Club.  She cheerfully serves in making the Friday evening drop in league and the Sunday Social League fun for everyone.  She assists in organizing each of these draws and virtually always shows up with baking to keep a smile on everyone’s face.  She made the time to give out decorated Christmas gift baskets for every player in these two draws.  Her efforts have enhanced the club curling experience for many of our members.  Beth is congratulated on her positive spirit in the club and it is with pleasure that, on behalf of all Club members, she is presented with the 2025/2026 Ruth MacKinnon award.
